Retiring. Rewiring. Reinventing.
What's My Next?
Are you in the midst of a life change? Ending a career or job, children leaving home, newly single, aging body? Who are you NOW regardless of what you have or haven’t done or experienced in your life to date? How do you acknowledge and celebrate the contributions that you’ve made so far? Who do you choose to be in the future, and what will living your best life and being your best self look like going forward?
A recent interview with Leslie Traub discussing Rewiring Together and Permission to Be by Dawn DelVecchino https://vimeo.com/750144094 (Runtime 30 minutes)
Come and join us in a trusting, non-judgmental, substance free and loving workshop environment, in a Cocoon of Sisterhood, to co-create an experience of mutual support as we launch into this potentially treasured time of our lives. We will be addressing the cognitive, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our beings at this stage of our lives. Note: Financial planning for retirement will not be covered in this workshop.
Rewiring refers to our ability as humans to change our brain patterns. Given what we know about neuroplasticity, rewiring our brains is a pro-active and critical step to interrupting negative patterns that we’ve absorbed and reflexively employed for a life of survival rather than a life of thriving. As we consider the lives we've lived and what we'd like our future to look like, most of us would like to shed or alter some aspect of our persona. We can do this because of neuroplasticity, which permits us to re-groove neuronal pathways (connections) in our brains. We do this through making positive associations through active reflection and breaking pathways where the conditioning in our life now occurs as as something that happened to me rather than who I am.Doing this in community, in a lovingly held group, supports the rewiring process. The on-going community of support that is available to all participants helps to support these changes as well. Gather in the Shenandoah Valley with an intimate group of people who identify as women over 50 to explore the Big Questions about this phase of our lives, to Rewire Together. As a result of Rewiring Together, participants have reported that they are:
Sitting with new perspective on their lives and that they’ve made peace with what is, seeing how all of the twists and turns of their lives have all been in service to this moment, no matter how difficult they've been
Moving their lives forward with more grace and ease
More peaceful and practicing self-care
Less reactive, and not so quick to rescue others
Happier than they’ve been

What will we do? The workshop is structured first to address how we learned to be who are: our values, guiding principles, and beliefs. We learn to deconstruct these and choose what serves us moving forward. Some of this work is based on internal family systems, life review, and 1:1 support. We get very clear about what needs to be shed. We use energy work and somatic processes as well as meditation and other ways of clearing. We use music as a vehicle for this work. From this opening, we explore who we've been in the world, and what we want to be witnessed for. This ritual is part of owning our fundamental gifts, and being seen for them. We then explore what its like to be dis-identified from the many roles that we've taken on as women in our lives, so our essential being can emerge. Through deep visualization, we learn to access our deep wisdom to paint a picture of what our best lives look like moving forward, and put some legs on those visions and support systems in place to make them so! Who should attend? Those who identify as women over 50 who have experienced or are anticipating experiencing transition – a separation or divorce from a partner, sending the last child to college, anticipating the RETURN of adult children, considering transitioning a career, or retiring, dealing with age-related health challenges. Women who have spent a lot of time planning for their financial retirement, but little time thinking about the psycho-social-spiritual aspect of retirement. Any woman over 50 who wants to experience deep connection with other women in a beautiful, sacred space. This is consciousness and liberation work, and as such all participants should have done some kind of previous personal development or self-improvement work. Leslie will talk with each participant before accepting a deposit.
